POWERS & ABILITIES: ----
PERSONALITY: Cho enjoys hanging out with Sakura and her family. Being around them gives her a better idea that there is some form of family normalcy out there. She's also protective of her cousins, Anzu Mazaki and Kuri Mazaki, against their mother, Remi Mazaki, who is her aunt. She hates this woman because she finds her to be gross because she believes that at her age, she was too old to be "giving a box away at her age", as she often puts it. Or she'll tell her aunt she's a gross old hag when she gets on one of her binges about how her and her cousins should follow in her footsteps, so they wouldn't have to worry about working. Clearly, she ignored her aunt and would go about her own things. Cho loves food, so when her aunt was MIA, she would always help Anzu cook meals for the three of them to eat. She wasn't great at it, but she wanted to be helpful.
Cho also enjoys collecting Pokémon cards and sharing her interest in them with her friends. She also sometimes collects plushies of some of the monsters as another side hobby She'd shared this with her girlfriend, Mamiko Mazawa, who was a lonely student often used by others for her intelligence. The two of them clicked as friends before becoming serious. Though their time together was short, the only thing she wanted was for her Pokémon cards and plushies go to Mamiko so she'd have something to remember her by when she died. She also wanted her cousins to get out of that house and away from their mother and told her friends that it was so much fun having met them and hoped they would never forget her.
DECK(S): ----
APPEARANCE: Cho is a tall, slender girl with long, dark brown hair in a ponytail and blue eyes. Her hat is white and pink with a picture of a pink Poké Ball on it. She wears a white tank shirt that reaches her waist underneath a black waistcoat and a pair of denim shorts with white tear details on them. She wears black wristbands with a small pink stripe on both of them and matching black ankle boots with pink laces and soles, and a pair of black socks underneath. She also carries a pink messenger bag around. When attending school, she wears the Seinan Academy girls' uniform.
HISTORY: Cho is the cousin of Anzu Mazaki and Kuri Mazaki, and the niece of Remi Mazaki. Cho has had it hard with her parents dying when she was ten, and the only relative willing to take her in was her Aunt Remi. This was only because of the inheritance left behind by Cho's parents to take care of her, which was in the amount of 23,160,450.00 yen. Her aunt only wanted access to the money, but thankfully, there were legal guardrails in place that would prevent anyone who took Cho in from completely wiping the account to use for anything that wasn't to take care of Cho. So, each time money was used, it had to be reported to the family lawyer each time on what the money pulled out was used for. Cho may have been ten at the time, but she was amused that her gross aunt couldn't use the money left behind on her for her lecherous habits.
She knew this pissed her aunt off, but she was the one who agreed to take her in, so she had to deal with her, with limited usage of her inheritance. So, since she couldn't use that money to attract rich men, she had to use her own looks to garner their attention, which Cho found disgusting. She was glad her cousins weren't like their mother, but she couldn't help but notice, as she got older, how her aunt made her own daughters smaller with just words. Cho and her aunt butted heads all the time over their differences of opinion, and there were times she was upset with Anzu that she wouldn't stand up to the woman and set her straight.
However, things changed around when Cho was twelve, and Anzu had been asked to temporarily take in one, if not a couple of Yuugi's friends, to stay with them until they got themselves situated. Even though the situation was temporary, it still pissed off her aunt, which made her often be home for days on end, leaving Cho and her cousins alone at home. Yuugi's friends from Tokyo were pretty cool. Their names were Ami and Rei. They inquired about them. Anzu was hesitant to tell them, but gave a roundabout response to the question. However, later, she told both Ami and Rei what it was really like living there. It was only terrible when her aunt was home, but fine when she wasn't. But because she often didn't use the money from her own job to take care of things around the house, which includes bills, that fell on Anzu to secretly get a job to keep them afloat. As far as Cho was aware, if her cousin's father was sending financial support for them, they never saw a dime of it.
It was sad, but the truth. Later, she met the rest of Yuugi's other friends; there were younger ones who came along with Ami and Rei. Their names were Chibiusa and Sakura. She found the girls to be pretty cool and would show them her Pokémon cards and plushies. She realized later that Sakura would be attending the same junior high school she was attending, which she found to be awesome because it was nice to have a friend. She normally got stares from other students who silently judged her because of her aunt. She wasn't even sure HOW anyone at her school found out about that woman, but she didn't allow it to keep her from being herself. While showing Sakura around, they ran into a student named Mamiko Mazawa who was being harassed by girls who were upset with her for refusing to do their homework for them. Of course, Cho and Sakura stepped in, threatened the girls that if they didn't get lost, they'd regret it. The girls dispersed, leaving Mamiko. Cho introduced herself to her and told her that if those girls were her friends, they sucked.
If she wanted better friends, then she and Sakura were better company. Mamiko was someone who was a loner, so she wasn't used to having friends who didn't want to use her for their own purposes. Mamiko agreed to be friends with them, and it made Cho excited to have a new friend who didn't care about her aunt, and she could share all things Pokémon and good food with. It is to be known that Sakura told Cho about her secret identity as a Sailor Guardian and asked her not to tell anyone about it. She was only telling her because she didn't want her to get upset anytime she had to flake on her and couldn't hang out. Cho thought this was so cool. Unlike Anzu, who didn't trust the Sailor Guardians, she felt differently because it meant that the terrible people who were causing problems in Domino could be taken out. Or at least that's what she joked. She knew that's not what they focused on in terms of taking out the "bad guys", but finding out that there were heroes out there secretly protecting them was awesome.
Mamiko was also later informed about Sakura's identity, and Mamiko and Cho had begun dating one another. It wasn't a big deal to Cho if anyone knew she was dating a girl, but she and Mamiko got close enough to learn more about each other. When things settled down with Sakura and her friends defeating the enemy that brought them to Domino, that is when Cho began showing signs of illness. She only found out what she was sick with when Anzu took her to the hospital. Cho was diagnosed with Leukemia. She spent an agonizing few months in the hospital, and the money left was left for her was used to take care of her used for her medical expenses. In her final moments, she wanted her cousins to promise they'll get away from their mother, and she wanted Mamiko to have her Pokémon collection to remember her by. She also told Anzu alone that whatever money was left after the funeral, she could use it to take care of herself and Kuri. Kuri died before the start of the Battle City Tournament.
Side Note: Originally, Cho was still supposed to die in the story, but instead of getting along with her cousins, she only got along with Kuri. Not her aunt Remi or cousin Anzu, who were written to be antagonists in the story in terms of creating personal drama between Yuugi's ex-girlfriend Jasmine. Cho was also originally written to be dating Sakura, but instead, this will be changed to where she will now be dating Mamiko Mazawa.
