PERSONALITY: Daijuro has a strong sense of justice when it comes to people and, of course, animals. His family owns a vet clinic in Domino, Japan. For that, it makes sense that he is part of the disciplinary club, but he runs it in a sense that the school, both faculty and students, are to follow the rules. It comes as no surprise that this puts him at odds with Juria Kase, who has a lot of people on her side. However, the only reason she can't touch Daijuro like she can others is that his family made sure not to take out a loan at any of the Kase family banks. The only thing Juria does to Daijuro is threaten him, which doesn't work, and he ignores her.

He is clearly an outspoken person when others are wrong in what they say and do. This is why he pushes back against Juria's actions in being involved in creating misfortune for other students who stand up to her. Daijuro goes out of his way to protect them and finds ways to combat Juria's actions. Juria is the only girl he frequently clashes with, but when it comes to the new student Ami Mizuno, he was very shy and awkward around her. He cares about Ami and goes out of his way to be friends with her, but it doesn't take him long to notice that she has feelings for Seto Kaiba. For that, he pushed the feelings he had for her aside and just stayed friends with her.

HISTORY: Daijuro Santo is just your average nice guy, gets good grades, and always does the right thing. Then he met Ami Mizuno. They both hit it off when they first met, but Ami always ended up in certain situations that she just was not expecting to be in. So Daijuro stuck around to protect her. Even though she became interested in Seto Kaiba, which was obvious to him, he still stuck by to protect her in case she might have needed him. Despite his own interest in Ami, he backed off and stayed her friend whenever she needed someone to talk to.

It is towards the end of the story, at graduation, Daijuro and Ami decide to meet for coffee and consider the idea of a relationship between the two of them. Daijuro is still interested in Ami, and it was because she wasn't anything like Juria that he became attracted to her. He also liked that she was smart and honest. He didn't mind her reserved nature at all. He decides to work at his family's vet clinic as an intern and transition to a full-time employee after university.
