POWERS & ABILITIES:
Fighting – Honda doesn't stick to a specific fighting style; he can pick up on different techniques by watching others around him and how they fight. While he mainly sticks to street fighting, he can incorporate other fighting styles with it. He isn't aware of all the names of the techniques he uses, but he isn't weak by any means. Most of his moves involve him using his fists and feet to punch and kick someone hard enough to knock them out in one blow. While these moves may work against weaker opponents, they don't work against anyone stronger. However, strength doesn't matter to Honda because he won't hesitate to fight someone who is messing with his friends.

Kendo – As a side hobby, Honda has been learning Kendo, and has stuck with it. He doesn't use it often because most of the fights he's in don't require him to use kendo moves, as he prefers fighting with his fists. Currently, he's still inexperienced.

Marksmanship – The only time Honda actually used a gun was when he was a kid, and it was a BB gun, which he has occasionally bragged about to his friends that he could shoot a 100-yen piece with it from 50 feet. But he has said sometimes how cool it would be to hold a real gun just once.

PERSONALITY: Honda’s quite good at street fighting since he and Jonouchi were known for being street thugs as well as school bullies. He can mimic simple basic fighting styles and apply them to what he already knows, which comes as a surprise to a lot of people he’s fought against, even Jonouchi himself. He isn't against trying new things, just to see if it's something he wants to continue with. Examples of this are Kendo and Dueling. He isn't great at dueling and only plays when he's bored. As for Kendo, Honda does stick with it, and if he is allowed to use it in a fight, he will. He's an avid video game enthusiast and has been known to beat Jonouchi consistently at them, which he finds amusing, knowing that it pisses him off. When it comes to his friends, Honda is willing to go to bat for them no matter what. He is aware he isn't liked by many of his peers because he and Jonouchi used to hang out in delinquent crowds, but he doesn't let that bring him down. He changed as a person when he became friends with Yuugi Motou, letting him see things and people around him differently, and he doesn't have to solve all his problems with violence. This shows he cares a lot about the safety and well-being of others, not just his own.

When it comes to girls, Honda doesn't have great luck with them. Sure, he's had many crushes, but they're usually interested in other guys, or they aren't interested in Honda because of his former delinquent tendencies. He finds it disappointing, but he doesn't give up as he hopes to eventually land himself a girlfriend/future wife. During his first year at Domino High, he had a crush on a classmate named Miho Nosaka, but after gathering the courage to approach her, she turned him down. As luck would have it, he'd met Yuugi's friends from Tokyo. One of them was a girl named Makoto Kino. The two of them butted heads in a more rival way. He didn't dislike her at all. In fact, Honda was intrigued by her as the two of them would often challenge each other to see who was stronger. They amused one another. Naturally, he did start to develop feelings for Makoto, but decided to hide them. Mainly, because he was used to being rejected by girls and didn't expect her to feel the same. He didn't want to feel like a loser again, chasing after women who don't want him. A part of him already feels useless, even if he doesn't openly vent about it to his friends. Despite that, he makes it a point to still be there for everyone, as they would be there for him. If that means cheering Yuugi and Jonouchi on during their duels, he's willing to do it proudly.

When attending school, he wears the required boys' uniform that was an all-blue long-sleeved jacket and pants, a white (sometimes cream colored) long-sleeved shirt, white socks, and brown suede shoes. He's been known to wear casual attire such as jeans, t-shirts, sneakers, etc.

HISTORY: Honda is Jonouchi's partner in crime and a member of Yuugi Motou's friend group. He and Anzu had gone off to Duelist Kingdom as moral support for Yuugi and Jonouchi, who were participants of the tournament. Honda has played Duel Monsters off and on, but it is usually during school when he has a break with his friends. He's also most known for being constantly rejected by girls to whom he confesses his feelings. Because rejection has affected him heavily, Honda's more cautious when approaching girls. Sure, he's still nice to other girls, but even if he has crushes on them, he doesn't say anything. Trying to take a different approach to allowing things to happen naturally. This changed when Yuugi's friends from Tokyo came to Domino and needed a place to stay until they all got situated. This was also when he'd learned Yuugi actually had a girlfriend, named Jasmine Tsukino. He did admit to him that she was actually hot and he was jealous. Clearly, he was teasing his friend, who was shyly avoided talking about his girlfriend out of embarrassment.

Living arrangements were set up with everyone being split, living with each one of them temporarily. Hell, he was even surprised that Seto Kaiba even came to help, but begrudgingly. As for who was staying with Honda, it ended up being Makoto Kino. She was tall, cute, and tough based on how she spoke. He was definitely intrigued by her. Somehow, the two of them became rivals, frequently challenging each other to see which one was stronger than the other. It often ended in a draw between the two of them. Still, he was very entertained by Makoto's presence. He also enjoyed her cooking because she offered to cook food as a token for allowing her to stay with him. Honda was overjoyed and thanked her and allowed her to use the kitchen as much as she wanted. He enjoyed Makoto's presence and loved the idea that she was going to start attending Domino High along with him and the others. He did warn her that they had a bit of a dangerous celebrity at the school. Her name was Juria Kase.

A part of Honda believed that the reason behind girls rejecting him was due to her, but he had no proof of it. So, he just kept his distance from Juria and her crew as much as possible. Somehow, he and everyone got roped up into some mess with Juria, but it was resolved before the upcoming battles in the story. One being Honda began to develop feelings for Makoto, and as much as he wanted to be with her, he worried she wouldn't want to date him. However, when she suddenly began avoiding him, he believed this was solidifying his case to move on. But this wasn't the case. It would appear that Makoto was similar to Yuugi in terms of having special abilities. She called herself a "Sailor Guardian". The very same individuals who'd suddenly begun appearing on the news and stopping strange situations around the city.

Of course, he wasn't afraid when these strange things started happening because he was used to it, being friends with Yuugi and learning about the spirit within his friend's Millennium Puzzle. Seeing Makoto bruised and beaten, she'd come to his place after being part of a big battle between her and her friends, who were also Sailor Guardians, as well, and the villain who was behind the reason why they all suddenly appeared in Domino, he was worried about her. Honda didn't reject her. Instead, he said he believed her. After he said that, is when Makoto kissed him. This surprised him, but he hugged her and returned it. He then said that he was happy she came back. He felt lonely without her around to have fun with. The two of them laughed, but this solidified their relationship.

But the battle for the sake of the world didn't end with the enemy that the Sailor Guardians defeated. Yuugi had an enemy that was targeting him and anyone who helped him, as this new enemy of Yuugi's wanted to obtain great power by taking away his friend's puzzle and using the power inside of it. But this enemy couldn't simply take it. He had to win it by defeating Yuugi in a fair battle, or rather a duel. That is when Honda learned Seto Kaiba was starting up a new tournament. Of course, Honda said he'd support Yuugi and, of course, Jonouchi as well, who joined Seto's tournament to help Yuugi. Makoto wanted to help in any way she could. Oh yeah, the two of them told everyone they were dating. Everyone was happy for Honda and Makoto. By the time the tournament had started, Yuugi and Jasmine had already broken up, but on good terms.

Honda wanted to ask, but he decided not to pry as Yuugi had a lot of things on his plate to worry about. He did ask Makoto about it, but she said she wasn't aware of the reason why the two of them broke up. But the two of them still talk to each other normally as close friends instead of lovers. Makoto told him the only ones upset about it were Usagi, Jasmine's twin sister, and their mother. She didn't understand why and did her best to help her friend see reason that she couldn't force her sister to be with Yuugi if she no longer had feelings for her. Jasmine's destiny wasn't the same as Usagi's, who was set in stone. Honda was confused by that, which Makoto immediately waved off and told him it's hard to explain. He accepted that answer from her and found it best not to ask further since Makoto's friend group didn't seem upset or concerned about what happened. Just Jasmine's sister and mother.

Instead, he tried to focus on making sure he was giving as much encouragement to both Yuugi and Jonouchi during their duels. While Jonouchi was busy, he was tasked with visiting his friend's younger sister, who was in the hospital for her eye surgery. He didn't mind at all and said he and Makoto would go there and check on Jonouchi's sister until she was able to be discharged. When Shizuka was finally discharged, the three of them made their way to try to find Yuugi and Jonouchi since the two of them had finally made it to the finals. However, before they could make it, they were surrounded by Rare Hunters. Makoto, of course, was willing to fight them, but Honda urged her to protect Shizuka instead, and he'll deal with the Rare Hunters. Makoto, bummed, did that. This is where they met up with Ryoji Otogi, who helped the two girls escape, but they also met up with Mai Kujaku.

Honda took care of the Rare Hunters and met up with the others in Mai's car, heading to where Yuugi and Jonouchi were, at the pier, where they were forced to duel by the enemy known as Malik Ishtar. So, everyone knew the name of the person who was behind all the Rare Hunters, and after Yuugi and the Egyptian God Cards, Malik was after. It was a lot for Honda to take in, but he was there to support his friends and wasn't backing out now. Plus, he and Makoto were able to get Shizuka to her brother so she could watch him duel. They made it to the finals, and Honda and Makoto cheered their friends on. Of course, things got scary when the real Malik Ishtar revealed themselves and not the person who was actually dueling Jonouchi. Mai had been taken out by Malik and Jonouchi it his mission to defeat Malik himself to avenge her.

Honda warned Jonouchi to be careful and not to worry his girlfriend because Malik was more dangerous than he was before. The finals got halted when they were kidnapped by a kid named Noa, who had transported them all to a virtual world as a plot that involved him and his father to get back at Seto and take everything from him. This obviously failed, but when it came time for Honda to duel against one of the Big 5 with Ryuji, Shizuka, and Makoto, he sacrificed himself because he knew the member that they were dueling was specifically targeting Shizuka and Makoto, who didn't know how to play the game. His mind ended up being transferred into a robot monkey, which he was horrified by. When everyone finally realized this, they did their best to try to take down the Big 5 members and Noa, so they could get back to the real world. They all did, and Honda learned a lot more about Seto and even Yuugi's ex-girlfriend than they expected.

He realized why Usagi and their mother were upset, but at the same time, the secrets were the fault of Usagi and Jasmine's mother. He agreed with Makoto and understood why she felt the way she did, and wasn't upset with Jasmine and Yuugi breaking up or Jasmine now dating Seto. That surprised him a lot, but it didn't change how Seto was in wanting to beat Yuugi and put down Jonouchi for his dueling skills. The tournament continued after the arc with Noa was finished. And the tournament ended with Yuugi defeating Malik, ending all the craziness that the guy was putting his friends through. He was tired of seeing them get hurt and was happy it was all over. Everyone returned to Domino after the tournament, with Honda, Makoto, and everyone else finishing out their final year. They graduated and Honda had decided right then that he wanted Makoto to marry him.

He told her that he decided he was going to go to the police academy so that he could get a stable income to support her. Whether she wanted to pursue a career in cooking or stay home, Honda was going to support her.
