POWERS & ABILITIES:
Fighting – Having been part of a gang in his teenage years that involved bullying other students. He often got into fights and developed great fighting skills, so there's no doubt that Jonouchi can hold his own in a brawl against someone. Sometimes, he and Honda fight side by side to take down multiple opponents, despite being outnumbered.

PERSONALITY: While Jonouchi displays a tough guy demeanor, he does show that he has a kind heart. Having bullied others in the past, he learned from his mistakes and became friends with those he had mistreated. This shows in his friendship with Yuugi and the others. He's become more righteous and would do anything to protect his friends or anyone who's being taken advantage of. He's a friend to the end, staying true to his word when he tells someone that he has their back. Jonouchi shows no shame when it comes to standing up for what he believes in, something that he exposes regularly. When it comes to family, he's protective of his mother and sister, and he doesn't like talking about his father, whom he can't stand and is glad he doesn't live with him anymore. Like any big brother, he won't hesitate to scare anyone, including his sister Shizuka, who's intentions he doesn't trust in wanting to be with her.

Jonouchi absolutely cannot stand Seto Kaiba, viewing him as nothing more than a spoiled rich boy with no feelings, and hates it when Seto puts down his dueling skills. It's bad enough that he, in a way, hasn't gotten over losing to him and wishes to have another chance to duel him to see which of the two is the strongest duelist. They butt heads quite often, leading Jonouchi to want to fight Seto and Seto just ignoring him, not finding him to be a waste of his time to deal with. He hates being underestimated, being pegged as the weakest compared to other people when he is anything but weak. This causes him to often doubt himself, feeling unworthy of having friends and learning a lot of new things because of these friends.

It usually takes a pep talk or a punch to the face to get him to realize that he has a good thing and not to act stupid whenever something goes wrong. He also hates admitting defeat or just has a hard time in general expressing his feelings, often embarrassed to do so, despite having a soft side that he doesn't like to show to people. And he's very sarcastic when he wants to be, and his temper is very short. Just the smallest things set him off, especially if those he cares about are involved. His sister Shizuka is one, as he's overprotective of her, and his friends Yuugi, Anzu, and Honda being second as he will not hesitate to step in and defend them if they're being bullied or bothered.

APPEARANCE: Jonouchi is 5'8'' with dirty blond hair in a sporadic hairstyle and dark brown eyes. He was known for wearing the Domino High School boys' uniform all the time, which was a long-sleeved dark-blue jacket and pants with a light blue (sometimes white) oxford shirt, white socks, and black suede shoes. His attire varies depending on his mood. It is common lately for his attire to be a blue and white short-sleeved shirt, a pair of blue jeans, and a pair of sneakers. HISTORY: Jonouchi is a very tough, though kind-hearted. At Duelist Kingdom, he dueled to save his sister's eyesight. He's an excellent duelist, but not good enough for Kaiba or Yuugi, but he's one of the best. He protects Yuugi because he is small, and in return, Yuugi helps him get out of hard situations in Duel Monsters. Jonouchi and Yuugi are best friends. They like to joke around a lot, especially Jonouchi. He's hot-headed but controls his temper. When some of Yuugi's friends come to Domino City from Tokyo, he develops a crush on one of them. Oh, sure everyone says something is going on between Jonouchi and Mai, but he already has a girlfriend and is going out with Minako Aino. At first, they were friends, but when they got to know each other more, they became very close.

Jonouchi joins the Battle City Tournament that Seto Kaiba hosts. Despite his disdain for Seto, Jonouchi joined the tournament because he wanted to not only grow more as a duelist but also wanted his younger sister, Shizuka, to see him duel after her operation that he managed to pay for. He introduced Minako to Shizuka after her operation, and the two were happy to meet each other. Shizuka was mainly happy that her brother was happy. Jonouchi made it to the finals of the tournament, and his sister and Minako were allowed to go and watch him along with a few of their friends. Things at the tournament took a drastic turn as Mai had gotten caught up in Yami Malik's shadow game. She lost the game, leaving her soul tortured in the Shadow Realm. Jonouchi vowed that he'd rescue Mai by being the one to defeat Malik.

Then, when it came time for the semi-finals of the Battle City Tournament, Jonouchi was the one to face off against Malik, only to be reduced to a coma from the impact of the shadow game Yami Malik put him through. Jonouchi didn't walk up until the end of Yuugi's duel against Seto. Everyone was worried but amazed that he was awake and alive. He was able to watch Yuugi's duel against Yami Malik and was happy that his friend won and was able to take down a great evil. After the tournament, he returned back to Domino, Japan, and he finished out school with the rest of his friends and his girlfriend, Minako. Jonouchi decided he'd become a professional duelist full-time after graduating, but he said he can do that anywhere and is willing to support Minako's career direction.
