Mamiko never had any friends other own until she met Choie Bunya and Sakura Motou. Once she started hanging around them and Sakura’s family, she stopped being shy and began talking a little bit more. Mamiko’s a very smart girl for the age of 13. She tutors higher-level grade students who need help with certain subjects that they might be failing. Choie and Sakura became her friends but when Choie ends up getting sick and eventually die from an illness, she did everything that she could to comfort Sakura in her time of need. Mamiko ended up being Sakura’s new lover, because Chloe was Sakura’s lover before she died.
