PERSONALITY: Mamiko is good at tutoring, and she fears not having friends. She is happy when she befriends Cho and Sakura because she only knew what it was like to be without friends. Mamiko was always ordered around by other girls to do things for them, which she did without complaints. It was just nice to be a part of a group in her mind. However, upon meeting Cho and Sakura, she hung out with those other female students a lot less when she realized they were taking advantage of her kindness.

HISTORY: Mamiko never had any friends other own. In fact, she only ever hung around popular female classmates and decided to take advantage of Mamiko, who was willing to do anything she was asked just to have friends. This changed when she met Cho Bunta and Sakura Tsukiyomi. Once she began hanging out with the two girls and Sakura's large extended family, she stopped being shy and learned to open up a bit more. She's a very intelligent young girl, making high marks in all her classes, and tutors other students who need help with their studies.

This is because she aspires to become a teacher after graduating from high school and hopes to attend a good university that will enable her to pursue this goal. Mamiko and Cho end up in a relationship together, but Cho eventually dies from leukemia, leaving Mamiko heartbroken, and Sakura does everything she can to comfort her in her time of need. Mamiko's part in the story comes to an end at the start of the Battle City Tournament. She doesn't reappear again until after Sakura's future mother, Jasmine, and aunt Usagi graduate from Domino High School.

She shows up at the graduation as a supportive friend that congradulates them and wishes them the best in their future endeavors. Mamiko, she was able to skip eighth grade and start her new school year as a high school student at Domino High School.
